Fahrenheit 451 pg. 3-21

The first couple of chapters confused me because it kept switching between the two people and it started to confuse me. The other part that confused was the author had just started to add in "the guy" and that was kinda random. The question that brought up was where did the guy come from?

1) Even before Montag and his wife Mildred talk to one another we know that they are alienated (distant) from one another. How does the author convey this?

I have no idea how the author convey this because the story is confusing me.

I also thought that the beginning of the book was confusing. This was mainly because the writing is so descriptive and detailed. I think you could improve your post by adding more. Even though you thought the story was confusing and you couldn't answer the question you could write more on what made you confused. I think that the book will make more sense once you read more.
